‘The Walking Dead’: Has Negan’s Victim Been Narrowed Down To Two Characters? [Spoilers]

So, Walking Dead fans — are you sick of spoilers and theories about who Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed? Can you handle one more theory? Actually, make that two more theories, to be precise. While The Spoiling Dead has been shut down from posting major Walking Dead spoilers, they’re still posting set photos, and with Season 7 filming well underway, those photos can be pretty telling.
If you want to avoid potential Walking Dead spoilers, stop reading now.
While it would come as no surprise to fans if whoever died at the end of Season 6 of The Walking Dead was still on set filming a few flashback scenes, with so much of Season 7 having been shot now, Cleveland.com claims it’s becoming pretty apparent who died in that controversial cliffhanger. Or, at the very least, it’s becoming pretty apparent who didn’t die, judging by the number of scenes filmed by the various actors this summer. And according to Cleveland.com, that information narrows it down to two potential characters who died at the hands of Negan.
Neither of these will come as a surprise to Walking Dead fans — Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz.)
While those are beloved characters — well, except maybe Carl — the character that many Walking Dead fans have worried about is Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus.) According to photos on The Spoiling Dead, Reedus has spent the most time on set this summer, which would seem to make his job safe and ensure no “if Daryl dies we riot” riots when Season 7 premieres.
That seems very sensible, but with one caveat that Walking Dead fans should keep in mind. Reedus is opening a restaurant in Senoia, Georgia, with executive producer, director, and special effects makeup supervisor Greg Nicotero. With the launch of the brand new restaurant, Reedus would be in town to matter what. It simply comes down to a question of whether he would really hang around on set that much if he wasn’t still alive in the series. Probably not, but it’s still a possibility Walking Dead fans should keep in mind.
So aside from time on set, what evidence supports Glenn or Abraham as Negan’s victims? Pretty much everyone on the planet now knows that in the comic book version of The Walking Dead, Glenn is killed by Negan, but the television series often deviates from the graphic novels. Between the two, Glenn is the only original cast member and his death would have a huge impact on Walking Dead fans, as we already found out after his fake death in Episode 3 this season, which was yet another example of fans being very upset with the writers. Would they really kill Glenn off after only “saving” him half a season ago?
As far as Abraham, he’s already outlived his character in the comic series, with poor Denise (Merritt Wever) being dealt the deadly arrow Abraham suffered in the comics. This would be The Walking Dead ‘s chance to dispose of a character who’s a loose end. It also fits in with all those emotional moments between Abraham and Eugene that seemed to be foreshadowing one of their final departures. The Spoiling Dead has also reported that Cudlitz was recently sighted at a fan event without his signature Abraham red hair. Yet that seems almost too obvious, like a red herring (no pun intended) meant to mislead Walking Dead fans.
Are your heads spinning, Walking Dead fans? There are plenty of theories out there, but if The Spoiling Dead ‘s photos paint an accurate picture of who’s spending the most time on set, it makes a lot of sense.
