The View’s Joy Behar will no longer be reporting for duties on HLN’s The Joy Behar Show when January rolls around. The network has announced that the show will end it’s two-year run at the end of December.
The decision comes as the 69-year-old Behar has decided to concentrate all of her efforts on her day job as a co-host for ABC’s The View.
Speaking of her run at HLN Joy says:
“I am very proud of the show that we created at HLN, and I owe tremendous thanks to the show team who made it possible.”
The show moved into a new 10pm timeslot and was receiving just under 500,000 viewers, slightly better than they network was doing with reruns of Nancy Grace’s program.
As the The Washington Post points out show numbers were down 18 percent among its target audience, viewers 25-54.
In an official HLN press release General Manager, Scott Safon bid the show’s host the best of luck:
“Joy and her team produced over 500 episodes of a show that featured news-making interviews, great conversation and plenty of humor. We thank Joy for the many memorable moments she gave the HLN audience.”
The final episode of “ The Joy Behar Show ” has yet to be announced but will be slated for sometime in mid-December. After the show leaves HLN they will replace it with another HLN program that is currently showing on the network. Executives have not yet revealed what show will take over the 10pm timeslot.
