The Jungle Book is a classic tale that just about all of us remember from our childhood. It’s the tale of a man-cub who is raised by a family of wolves in the jungle. The various incarnations of The Jungle Book have cemented it as one of the most classic stories of all time. With that in mind, fans of the story are undeniably going to be excited by the upcoming live-action adventure version of the story directed by Jon Favreau.
What’s even more exciting about the trailer is the number of well-known names who have lent their voices to The Jungle Book. Most notably is Shere Khan, the fearsome tiger who is, of course, being voiced by the infamous Idris Elba. Also making an appearance are the likes of Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, and Christopher Walken. If there’s one thing to be certain about this film, it’s the fantastic range of names that are set to make an appearance. This isn’t an incarnation of The Jungle Book done by halves, and the producers have undeniably gone all out in terms of casting, which makes us even more excited.
The Jungle Book is an upcoming CGI live-action remake of the original 1967 animated film of the same name. Directed by Jon Favreau, it’s pretty clear that film is designed to bring the story of The Jungle Book to a whole new generation. With the inclusion of those aforementioned big Hollywood names, we’re pretty sure the film will do a good job of doing just that. It’s scheduled to see a release in late April in various countries across the globe in Disney Digital 3D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D. It goes without saying that Disney is truly setting this up to be one of their most momentous film releases this year.

The film was actually first announced back in July 2014 and has since then been through a bit of a bumpy journey. Jon Favreau was quickly announced as the production’s director, as several key names were also signed to the film. While it was originally slated for release on October 16, 2015, Disney took the decision to postpone it to April of this year instead. Details around this push back were always a little thin on the ground, but it’s widely suspected to have something to do with Disney’s other film releases debuting at the same time and Scarlett Johansson’s busy schedule.
Either way, fans can’t wait to watch The Jungle Book given a new lease of life when this iteration of the story finally reaches cinemas in April. Plus, the casting of this film is sure to help it appeal to a whole new audience at the same time.
