Back at E3 in June, Namco Bandai announced Tekken Hybrid , a Blu-Ray release that includes not only Namco’s upcoming Tekken: Blood Vengeance CG movie, but also a HD remake of the original Tekken Tag Tournament , all exclusively for the PlayStation 3 .
Apparently, that’s not the only thing Namco Bandai has in store for Tekken fans. At San Diego Comic Con over the weekend, Namco announced that Tekken Hybrid will also include a playable demo for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 .
Despite confirmation of a demo, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 still wasn’t formally announced to be heading to consoles any time soon. Considering they’re going to be providing a demo, however, it seems likely we’ll at least be hearing something more soon.
Tekken Hybrid still doesn’t have an official release date, but Amazon is currently listing the blu-ray for release on December 27. Tekken: Blood Vengeance is set to be shown in select theaters in the US tomorrow, July 26.
Tekken: Blood Vengeance was directed by Namco Bandai’s Youichi Mouri, the man behind the opening cinematics for Tekken 5 and Tekken 6 . The script was penned by Dai Sato, who you anime fans may recognize as the scriptwriter for Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex .
