Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris Breakup: DJ ‘Bored For A While’ With Relationship, Source Claims

The news of the Taylor Swift-Calvin Harris breakup may have shocked the music world, but sources close to the former couple said they saw the split coming.
According to a source for E! News, Calvin Harris (real name: Adam Wiles) and Taylor Swift simply didn’t have any chemistry. Additionally, the source reports, the 32-year-old Scottish DJ had been “bored with the relationship” for quite some time before the split.
“Adam has been bored for a while and was hoping the spark would come back but it hasn’t. Friends were even surprised it lasted this long because of the lack of chemistry.”
According to E! News, a second source reported that Harris and Swift were “not very compatible” and “seemed more like friends than lovers.” The source told the news outlet that Harris had “started to lose interest over the past few months.”

TMZ added that Harris, who likes to keep a low-profile, simply didn’t want to be part of the Hollywood scene anymore.
“Sources close to the exes tell us Calvin is all about his music, working out and keeping a low profile,” TMZ reported. “When he started dating Taylor 15 months ago they were keeping things private and not doing public events together… so, he was cool with the relationship.”
TMZ went on to say that Harris became more uncomfortable as he began to receive regular media attention. Harris simply wants to get back to living a low-key lifestyle, the media outlet reported.

The E! News report indicated that Swift wasn’t exactly happy with the status of the relationship, either. An unnamed source close to Taylor Swift reportedly told E! News that Swift “was really disappointed in Calvin and felt like he wasn’t there for her.”
“The relationship wasn’t progressing the way she wanted it to. She felt like he wasn’t taking it seriously enough and wouldn’t come through for her when she needed him most.”
Despite her alleged disappointment with the direction the relationship was going, Taylor Swift is said to be “pretty upset” about the breakup. TMZ indicated that there was no “big blowup,” as Calvin was simply honest with Taylor about his feelings.
Swift has not commented publicly about the split, except to share Harris’ tweet, seen below.

Swift and Harris began dating 15 months ago, and though sources close to the pair seemed to see the split coming, fans simply did not. Taylor and Calvin routinely posted photos together on social media and outwardly seemed to be extremely supportive of each others careers. Back in July, Harris gushed about Swift while talking to a Manchester radio station, saying that he was “insanely happy.”
“It’s not even a case of ticking all the boxes, there’s boxes that I didn’t even know existed she ticks. It’s really ridiculous but yeah she does an incredible barbecue and she’s generally an incredible cook and human being.”
The news that the 26-year-old pop princess and her beau had split came just days after Harris was involved in a car accident that caused him to cancel several shows. Harris was briefly hospitalized after the incident.
