Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have broken up, and it’s official and no longer just rumor, Glamour is reporting .
Ironically, the official reason for their break up, according to an unidentified source, was too much publicity.
“Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection, but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.”
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , rumors of a Taylor Swift – Tom Hiddleston break up have been circulating for a while now , ever since the couple (affectionately called “Hiddleswift”) had a huge argument back in August. At the time, an anonymous source speculated that the couple’s conflicting schedules were causing tension in the relationship.
“They weren’t spending as much time together lately…It was hard making their schedules work and they were upset they couldn’t see each other.”

Even though the official reason for their August fight was “conflicting schedules,” sources close to the couple say that their relationship has been dogged by an even bigger problem; namely, that the actor wanted to glam on to Taylor Swift’s fame to increase his own name recognition.
“Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable. She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons.”
Hiddleston himself dodged that accusation, according to People , when he spoke publicly about the relationship to The Hollywood Reporter back in July.
“Look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”
It had been a whirlwind romance for Swift and Hiddleston. It’s unclear where or how the two met and became a thing. although back in May the two were seen dancing together and being flirty at the annual Met Gala. But on June 15, the couple had no choice but to admit they were together after photos of the two cavorting around on a Rhode Island beach went public.

By July, according to E! Online , the couple were globe-trotting. Hiddleston flew to Nashville to meet Swift’s parents and “squad,” followed by a flight to London so Taylor could meet Tom’s parents. After that, they were off to Italy for some public PDA mixed in with romantic dinners.

Unfortunately, Tom couldn’t neglect his acting duties for Taylor, so the songstress joined the actor in Australia while Hiddleston filmed scenes for Thor: Ragnarok . Taylor even stopped by a local hospital to say “Hi” to sick kids.
Throughout her career, Taylor Swift has been known as much for the men she’s dated as she has her songs and performances. In fact, the very song that made Taylor Swift a household name (“Teardrops On My Guitar,” back when she was a country performer), was an ode to a failed high school romance. Publicly, she’s been attached to One Direction singer Harry Styles as well as DJ and record producer Calvin Harris.
Since Taylor Swift isn’t above writing a hit single about a failed relationship, expect to see a No. 1 song about Tom Hiddleston on the pop charts.
