Taco Bell is pulling an anti-veggie, pro-taco ad after several people voiced their complaints on Twitter.

According to the Christian Science Monitor , the barrage of Tweets was started by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a health advocacy group, that urged people to contact the company on Twitter and ask the company to pull their anti-veggie ad.

The ad, which you can see here, featured a party guest walking into a Super Bowl party with a tray of veggies.

A voice then says:

“Veggies on game day is like punting on fourth and one. It’s a cop out. And secretly? People kinda’ hate you for it.”

After the brief Twitter protest, Taco Bell agreed to pull the ad.

Rob Poetsch, a spokesman for Taco Bell, said:

“We didn’t want anyone to misinterpret the intent of the ad.”

The Center For Science In The Public Interest thanked Taco Bell for pulling the anti-veggie ad. CSPI said in a statement:

“It’s bad enough that there aren’t many ads on television for broccoli, kale, or carrots. The last thing healthy fruits and vegetables needed was to be the subject of attack ads … Thanks to Taco Bell for responding with record speed to address nutritionists’ and consumers’ concern over this ad campaign.”

Do you think Taco Bell made the right decision to pull the anti-veggie ad? Are people getting too sensitive about the contents of commercials?
