Stephen Jackson fractured his pinkie last night during the San Antonio Spurs game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Spurs guard will be out for four to six weeks.
ESPN reports that Jackson fractured his right pinky late in the first quarter. The Spurs guard left the court to get X-rays and did not return to the game.
The Spurs wrote on Twitter: “Injury update: Stephen Jackson has a non-displaced fracture of the proximal phalanx of his right little finger. Rxpected to miss 4-6 weeks.”
According to Bleacher Report , the 12-year veteran was starting in the three position for the injured Kawhi Leonard. With Jackson out, the Spurs are now even thinner at the position and will most likely play shooting guard Manu Ginobili in the position during their Wednesday night game against the Clippers. Coach Gregg Popovich said that the team might also activate guard Cory Joseph to add some depth to the lineup.
Jackson was averaging 8.3 points per game for the season. The Spurs are currently 8-3 and will face the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
