If you have aspirations of playing as a Han Solo-esque character in Star Wars: The Old Republic rather than lightsaber-wielding Jedi or Sith, the Smuggler class was made for you.
To prove that the class was made for you, BioWare released a new Smuggler trailer that details the character progression of the Smuggler class, from Scoundrel to Gunslinger.
Going by the video, it appears that the Scoundrel archetype is a more utility-based variant of the Smuggler class, whereas the Gunslinger, as you no doubt were able to divine from the name, is focused on taking a guns-blazing approach to combat with dual-wield blasters.
