Jersey Shore alum Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has been shrinking shrinking shrinking since leaving the popular MTV show behind in 2012. Though popularly known as a “meatball,” she has dropped a dramatic 50 pounds post-baby. There have been some haters, and some critics merely concerned about her health, but Snooki says everything is on the up-and-up.
In an interview with InTouch , Snooki says that her current size 0 frame is actually her normal size, so don’t you worry.
“ People are jerks. I don’t look emaciated — I look healthy!” she says in the mag , available in newsstands now.
While she was on Jersey Shore , Snooki topped out at 146 pounds. Now, she’s a slim 96 pounds, which has led some to label her as “too skinny,” and too quickly, as well. She says people are overreacting.
“My arms still jiggle when I wave! I’m 4-foot-9, which is the size of a third-grader, so weighing 96 pounds is normal for me,” she says.
As for the reasons for the dramatic new look, Snooki says that a personal trainer and a lot of cardio have helped her maintain her new figure.
“ People ask me why I’m still working out — I’ll gain the weight back if I don’t,” she says.
She has also stopped partying, for the most part. “I hate drinking now. I’d rather be with my son!”
Snooki’s fit bod will come in handy as she suits up for Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars where she’ll face off against the likes of Bill Nye, Jack Osbourne and Leah Remini.
