Skyrim PC updated to 1.3.10, adds Large Address Aware support

If there was anything to complain about when playing Skyrim on PC, it would have to be the memory-related crashes. Before the modding community took it upon themselves to fix the problem, crashes were common due to memory restrictions, especially for those who had mods installed such as texture packs that raised the memory usage further.

For those of you who want a more official solution, or for those of you who never knew a fix existed to begin with, BioWare has released Skyrim PC patch 1.3.10, and with it finally comes 4-Gigabyte Tuning (Large Address Aware) support, which should put an end to most of the crashes users were experiencing, at least those related to memory.

Other than that, the only other thing that the patch addresses is a fix for accented characters not displaying properly at the end of a line. There’s a report from RPS that notes and books looted from bodies automatically open now, but Bethesda made no mention of any other fixes or improvements in the patch notes.

No word just yet on when we can expect the next major patch, but Bethesda did say that the Creation Kit is due out in January, so we’ll likely see something around that point.
