The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge were accused of ripping off design features from the new iPhone and this weekend, there is a new plagiarism claim. According to MacRumors , Samsung copied the idea of it’s new video for its flagship device from an Apple Watch video.
“Earlier today Samsung debuted a new video on its YouTube channel called “Designing Possible”, detailing the design process of the brand new Galaxy S6 Edge . However, the video bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s video on how the company designed the gold Apple Watch Edition.”
MacRumors notes that both videos feature men with English accents who talk about the design process of the particular devices. They also believe the two videos have similar cinematography. Apple fans took to Twitter in order to bash Samsung for what they believe is another case of plagiarism.

So far, Samsung hasn’t responded to the accusations. Perhaps the company is too busy worrying about the controversy over memory problems with both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Forbes has the details.
“The company took to its Samsung UK Facebook page to confirm that both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have memory mismanagement problems which cause them to slow and apps to forcefully close. The root of the problem: how RAM is consumed and freed up.”
Those who try the Dolphin Browser on the Galaxy S6 will notice that the app isn’t useable since it often shuts down, just like some other apps. As Forbes notes, RAM used by other apps is supposed to be released when those apps aren’t being used. However, that doesn’t appear to be happening with many apps on both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
This isn’t the first time Samsung has encountered bad publicity with the Galaxy S6 devices. A couple weeks back, some Galaxy S6 Edge buyers noticed their screen wasn’t rotating. Computerworld explained the problem.
“Samsung acknowledged late Tuesday a screen rotation problem on a ‘very limited’ number of Galaxy S6 Edge devices, which went on sale April 10. The company said a solution is already available, but didn’t disclose whether it is related to the device’s hardware or software or both.”
Quality control has become a serious issue over the past several years. Several companies rush to get products to the marketplace before they undergo a strict quality control process. Let’s hope Samsung can fix the problems with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which are groundbreaking devices according to most critics.
