Samsung Galaxy Round Is Curved Smartphone Using Flexible Screen Tech That Doesn’t Flex

The Samsung Galaxy Round is curved smartphone that will feature flexible screen technology but it’s not truly flexible… confused yet?

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Samsung Note 3 just released and reviews are positive , saying the Android smartphone is better than the Samsung Galaxy S series .

The Samsung Galaxy Round screen actually does use a Full HD Super Flexible AMOLED display and could be compared to the Galaxy Note 3 because of its size. The Samsung Galaxy Round features the same camera, physical dimensions, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3GB of system memory. The major difference will be that the Samsung Galaxy Round is slightly bowed and curved in order to more easily fit into your hand and pockets based upon the 5.7 inch screen size.

The Samsung Galaxy Round’s flexible screen is also tethered to a body and chipset that is completely inflexible. Samsung’s Youm flexible display prototype did feature a completely flexible screen but once again it was attached to a solid base where the processor and everything else was contained. The Youm screen was pulled out kind of like a scroll.

So why is Samsung Galaxy Round advertised as using flexible screen technology if the smartphone doesn’t flex? For one, the Samsung flexible screen technology is actually cheaper to manufacture than older designs. Several of the unique Samsung Galaxy Round features includes a “roll effect” and a “gravity effect” where certain information can be accessed by rolling the device to the side and the visuals can be altered.

What do you think about the curved features of the Samsung Galaxy Round?
