According to TMZ , WWE minority owner Stephanie McMahon has set her sights on UFC star Ronda Rousey to become the next big female star in WWE. Rousey recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and dropped a bombshell on the UFC community as she revealed that her upcoming fight at UFC 207 against Amanda Nunes will be one of her last inside the octagon.

“The show isn’t going to be around forever,” Rousey told Ellen. “I’m wrapping it up. “This is definitely one of my last fights. Everyone better watch because the show isn’t going to be around forever.”

UFC president Dana White was asked by TMZ about the news that Rousey would leave the octagon soon, and he stated it was because Ronda wanted to pursue her acting career .

“Ronda Rousey’s made a lot of money. She made a lot of money, she accomplished what she set out to do. You get to a point, especially in this business, when you have to start looking at things and she loves acting,” White said. “She loves acting, she’s good at it and if she dedicates herself to it, she’ll be even better at it.”

Ronda Rousey has appeared in multiple commercials while also having roles in movies such as The Expendables 3 , Entourage, and Furious 7 . Her fame has exploded unlike any other UFC fighter, and she’s been the biggest draw in the company for a couple of years. Rousey’s popularity has led to more opportunities outside of the octagon, and she’s taken advantage. After all, wouldn’t you rather make money without repeatedly getting punched in the face?

One of those opportunities outside the octagon that came for Rousey was an appearance at WrestleMania 31, where she got an opportunity to team up with The Rock and put Stephanie McMahon in an armbar inside the ring. Now that Ronda is planning on retiring from the UFC, McMahon wants to bring Rousey to the WWE on a more regular basis.

Rousey is a major WWE fan and regularly attends shows around the country. After her appearance at WrestleMania 31 , Rousey was asked if she would ever want to get back into the ring in the future.

“Definitely,” Rousey said. “I loved being in WrestleMania and will find a way to get back in the squared circle. I just have no clue when. And any real wrestling fan would want to be surprised anyway.”

It will be interesting to see if things do work out between the WWE and Ronda Rousey. Rousey is one of the biggest names in sports, and her joining WWE would be the perfect boost to the company’s declining ratings. Interest in the business has been declining for years, but Ronda would instantly increase ratings.

At this point, a full-time role in the WWE seems unlikely with Rousey’s admitted interest in pursuing her acting career. That being said, it would be a no-brainer if the two sides could work out a deal similar to the one WWE has in place with Brock Lesnar. Lesnar only appears at live events every so often and then fights at the biggest pay-per-views. This type of compromise would still do wonders for the UFC with Rousey.

As for her upcoming bout with Nunes, Rousey told Ellen that she’s ready to go after not stepping inside the octagon since November of 2015 when she lost the UFC women’s bantamweight belt to Holly Holm.

“I’ve been training twice a day since the beginning of August,” Rousey said. “I finally feel like I’m in super-ninja good mode.”

If you want to see Ronda Rousey compete in one of her last fights, then make sure you purchase UFC 207 on December 30.
