Robin Williams left his estate to his three children, Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22. According to the New York Daily News , the late actor’s estate , said to be worth $50 million, was listed in a trust fund that the actor set up in 2011. He also left money to his wife, Susan Schneider. Those details were explicitly listed in a prenuptial agreement and do not interfere with the money going to Williams’ kids.
“Fearful of being taken to the cleaners after two failed marriages, Williams also ensured that third wife Susan Schneider would be taken care of in a prenuptial agreement they signed before their 2011 wedding,” reports the New York Daily News .
Robin Williams’ estate was mapped out in a will which was filed in court just a week ago , according to Mail Online . The Robin Williams Trust was not dependent on the actor’s death and was set up to gift each child money when they reach certain ages. All of the money going to each child was set to be transferred by the time each child turned 30.
“The trust was not dependent on Robin’s death and so far, Zak, who is married to wife Catherine, is the only one of the children to have received all of his money after turning 30.”
Now that Williams has passed away, it’s unknown if the will shall be carried out as it was intended — with money being given at each age mark — or if the remainder of the money due to each child will be given out immediately.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Robin Williams was found dead in his home in Tiburon, California. The actor hanged himself between the closet door and door frame using a belt. His death shocked millions of people, who had no idea that the actor had been battling such severe depression. To this day it is hard to believe that he’s gone.
Robin Williams’ estate is made up of an empire that he created. At the same time, Williams recalled wanting to have a steady job to be able to “pay the bills.” He has a couple of properties, but it’s unknown who will get them or if they will need to be sold according to the actor’s will.
“The idea of having a steady job is appealing… There are bills to pay. My life has downsized, in a good way. I’m selling the ranch up in Napa. I just can’t afford it anymore,” he said back in September of 2013.
