For PC fans who have waited for Rise of the Tomb Raider to hit their platform, the wait is almost over. Coming later this month, Rise of the Tomb Raider will come to Steam and the Windows 10 store for PC fans on January 28. Now, thanks to a report on PC Gamer , players can see if their rigs are up to the task of playing the latest installment of Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider reboot.
Already out on Xbox One thanks to a Microsoft exclusivity deal with publisher Square Enix, Rise of the Tomb Raider shows the next evolution of Lara Croft as she braves the snows of Russian winters and actually adventures through tombs this go around. The game has received critical acclaim on Xbox One already, so players on other platforms have been eager to get their hands on the title. While there are no recommended requirements as of yet (this includes the Steam page listing ), the minimum requirements are pretty manageable by today’s standards.
- OS: Windows 7 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 25 GB available space
Pretty manageable to play Rise of the Tomb Raider on your system, so it’ll be interesting to see what the fully “recommended” requirements will be. Rise of the Tomb Raider will support unlimited 4K resolutions and unlimited framerate, unlike its console counterpart, which runs at a dynamically scaling resolution and a target 30 frames per second, which Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry has shown has plenty of instability. At minimum, though, Rise of the Tomb Raider can run on some pretty respectable machines, which is understandable given the less-than-powerful nature of the consoles. Both the Intel i3 and the graphics card requirements are pretty low, given the cards listed released a few years ago.
Rise of the Tomb Raider has gotten so many great reviews since launching in November, even though many thought the game would be drowned out thanks to launching the same day as Fallout 4. Early sales numbers of the latest Tomb Raider didn’t show much promise, though Microsoft has released that the game has sold over a million copies, according to Xbox Wire .
