Rex Ryan Tattoo: Jets Coach Addresses Body Art In Press Conference [Video]

Rex Ryan says his Mark Sanchez jersey tattoo is real.

The New York Jets head coach addressed the “kinky inky” issue, which became big news on social media, at his end-of-season press conference yesterday upon returning from his vacation in the Bahamas.

A photographer snapped an image of the tattoo on his right arm depicting what appeared to be his wife Michelle wearing a Mark Sanchez Number 6 jersey (and nothing else) and apparently also “Tebowing.”

He is what Rex Ryan said at the press conference when asked about the tattoo:

” ‘There’s a question of, ‘Is that a real tattoo or not?’ I’ll keep you guessing. But no, it’s funny, it’s actually a tattoo I’ve had going on three years now. I know what you’re thinking. Obviously if Sanchez doesn’t play better that number is changing. That’s pretty much a given.’

” ‘I’ve been married 25 years, and in my eyes my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world. So that’s what it is.’ “

Ryan did not address why it looks like his wife’s image is Tebowing, but if he had the body art for three years, it would seem to have predated the Tebowing craze. It also sounds odd that Ryan would start off by saying that he would keep the reporters guessing if the tattoo is permanent or not, and then immediately admit that it’s real.

According to CBS News , a tattoo artist named Eugene Taase claimed he did the tattoo for Ryan in 2010.

Football fans can also now buy a T-shirt containing a replica of the tattoo made by apparel brand Crosstown New York.
