Up and coming rapper Wiz Khalifa (real name Cameron Jabril Thomaz) was arrested Monday night on felony drug possession charges in North Carolina following a concert at East Carolina University in Greenville.
According to reports, Wiz Khalifa had finished the show and was on his way back to his tour bus with his band when he was stopped by ECU police officers. The officers claimed that they could smell marijuana coming from his bus and wanted to search it. The search then managed to turn up 2 ounces of pot.
Without being able to narrow down ownership, the officers arrested Wiz and all nine members of his band/entourage who were present at the time.
Wiz has been charged with one felony count of trafficking in marijuana, one felony count of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle/place for the sale or storage of marijuana and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Upon payment of a $300,000 bond he was released Tuesday morning.
