QB Casey Pachall has finished rehab. The former TCU quarterback returned to the team on Sunday to take part in team meetings.
Pachall left TCU in October to seek treatment shortly after he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Pachall also admitted in early 2012 that he smoked marijuana and failed a team drug test.
But Pachall has now finished his rehab and is now back on the team. Coach Gary Patterson said that Pachall will have to work to earn his starting spot back but so far he’s done “everything we wanted him to do.”
“He looks great … It’s like he looked when he was a freshman. Right now, we feel really good about this. It’s never going to be 100 percent perfect but there is a chance we did the right thing and made a difference. You’ve got to understand, everybody is going to be watching on this.”
CBS Sports reports that Pachall threw for 2,921 yards and 25 touchdowns during his first year as a starter. In 2012, he threw 948 yards and 10 touchdowns before his arrest.
