Prince William was a special student at Eton, UK’s prestigious college, because not only was he a member of Britain’s royal family, but he also excelled in both academics and sports.

While pursuing his studies, Prince William was very active in sports, and it has been reported that he’s an excellent swimmer. Like both his father and brother, Prince William enthusiastically participates in sports like polo, fishing, and shooting. In order to promote teamwork and sportsmanship among the youth of Britain, the Prince created the Prince William Swim League for young children.

The Prince and his wife, Kate Middleton, love basketball, and the couple enjoyed an NBA basketball game during their visit to the United States. They are both enthusiastic spectators and commonly display their affection for each other while enjoying the game. Recently, the royal couple toured Manchester City’s National Football Museum, where they welcomed young achievers making an impact on their communities. The Football Museum helps enthusiasts learn about the game, techniques, leading teams, and World Cup matches. According to People magazine, Prince William no longer pursues the game because of injuries he sustained in the past.

“I play a little bit at school and university mostly. Rugby I’ve stopped, too many injuries. I do a bit of swimming as well.”

However, Kate Middleton intervened and jokingly commented that her husband’s still a good runner, and the couple frequently chases after their children while playing with them.

George and Charlotte, Prince William’s children, share their father’s love for equestrian sports. According to People magazine, Natasha Baker, a para-equestrian champion , spoke about Kate Middleton’s proud response when asked about her children.

“I asked her how the children were, and she said Charlotte is really enjoying her riding — which is great to hear. I said we may see her here on a line-up in 20 years time.”

Kate Middleton’s comments about her daughter’s love for horseback riding came when the couple was hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace in honor of British Paralympians and Olympians who had achieved success at the Games in Rio.

Queen Elizabeth II hosted the reception at her official residence, and she congratulated each person individually on their achievements. Prince Philip, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry were co-hosts at the reception. According to The Sun , Prince William and Kate Middleton released a joint statement declaring their appreciation for British athletes who achieved success through their dedication and hard work.

“You have made the entire country proud of everything you have accomplished. We all know that this success does not come easy and is the culmination of years of hard work, passionate commitment, sheer grit and determination.”

The Prince is renowned for participating in sporting events to raise funds for humanitarian causes.

To achieve his goals, Prince William has teamed up with his brother, Prince Harry, to take part in charity polo matches, which have helped the Princes raise millions of dollars for their shared charities. The brothers recently participated in the Audi Polo Challenge to raise funds for the Tusk Trust and Sentebale charities. On another occasion, during their visit to India, Prince William and Kate Middleton played cricket and football with disadvantaged children, and they also tried their hand at archery while visiting Bhutan.
