The Powerball winning numbers were announced Wednesday, and with no one matching the six numbers plus the Powerball, the jackpot for the multi-state lottery will now reach $130 million.

The Powerball jackpot had grown to $110 million after five consecutive draws without a winner. While Wednesday’s drawing yielded no winners, the lottery’s website noted that there were two $1 million Match Five winners, one in Florida and the other in Louisiana.

In all, there was $5.5 million in non-jackpot prizes issued based on Wednesday’s drawing.

The winning numbers were: 05-31-50-55-56, Powerball: 9

Powerball offers two options for winners. They can take the $130 million annuity prize, which is paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or can take a cash option of approximately $73.5 million.

There have already been a number of big jackpots won recently. The last Powerball jackpot won was worth $213 million and won October 23 by 68-year-old Cario Mitchell, a retired medicine technician who lives in California.

Cario was the only winner to pick all five numbers right plus the Powerball number. His prize after taxes and other expenses was $123 million.

Cario and his wife Erlinda said they were overwhelmed by the win, and waited a while to come forward.

Erlinda said she was shocked when Cario told her about the big win.

“I fainted, I blacked out right there on the new couch. I just couldn’t believe it,” she said.

Anyone who wants to catch the $130 million Powerball jackpot can pick up a ticket for $2, and can add the Power Play feature for $1 to increase non-jackpot prize winnings. Powerball is played in 43 States, plus Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.
