Over the weekend Paul Walker was remembered in various ways by family, friends, and his fans. On September 12, the actor would have turned 42-years-old.
The Fast & Furious actor died months after his 40th birthday in a car accident on November 30, 2013, in Valencia. Up until then not much was known about his daughter, Meadow Rain Walker. In the days following Paul Walker’s death, we learned that his daughter, Meadow, had started living with him over the last year.
Over the weekend fans and friends came together to honor Paul Walker. Actor Vin Diesel has made several tributes to Walker, including naming his daughter, Pauline. Over the weekend, Diesel supported Meadow Walker, who he calls his niece, by taking the time to talk about the new foundation she created in honor of Paul.
In an emotional post, featuring a fan made photo of Paul with Diesel and his daughter, Pauline, Diesel stated, “The art you fans create is simply spectacular… And warms my heart. Tyrese sent me this image. Today is a special day as you all know, an angel was born on this day. Paul’s daughter Meadow, my niece and Pauline’s cousin launched a DO GOOD charity foundation today… Paulwalkerfoundation.com So proud!”
Months after his death, Meadow Walker’s official Instagram and Facebook pages were created so she could keep fans up to date. Throughout the last two years, she’s made touching posts about her father, Paul Walker. On what would have been his 42nd birthday, she decided to launch the Paul Walker Foundation .
In a Facebook post announcing the foundation, Meadow shared a touching photo of her and her father, with a statement, “Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching the Paul Walker Foundation on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father. #?DoGood.”
On the site, Meadow’s statement reads, “GROWING UP IN HAWAII I DEVELOPED A STRONG CONNECTION WITH THE OCEAN. MY FATHER LOVED THE OCEAN, AND WAS ALWAYS TEACHING ME NEW THINGS. I WANT THIS FOUNDATION TO DO MANY GOOD THINGS INCLUDING HELP OTHERS WHO SHARE MY FATHER’S PASSION.”
Paul Walker’s youngest brother, Cody Walker, who has filled his shoes as an actor and an activist for Paul’s organization, Reach Out World Wide, made a post to honor his brother, as well.
“Brotherhood is one of the most special bonds that one could ever have. I’m so proud to have both of these guys in mine. We love and miss you Pdub Paul Walker. Happy 42nd birthday big brother.”
