Paris Hilton is being charged with felony possession after she was arrested this week while carrying .8 grams of Cocaine reports TMZ .
The DA filed the case in Las Vegas on Monday. Hilton was arrested in Vegas on Friday night after police noticed marijuana smoke billowing out of the car that was being driven by Hilton’s night club owning boyfriend Cy Waits.
Hilton was detained at the Clark County Detention Center for a short period until bail was set and paid.
Hilton has tried to use the defense that she wouldn’t be caught dead with the purse the cocaine was found in, then she said it was her purse but that a friend was using it.

Due to the fact that the suspected cocaine fell from the purse Hilton was carrying, that the suspect cocaine was found near a broken prescription pill that Hilton admitted was hers, that she admitted that other items inside the purse were hers (including a package of Zig Zag wrappers, which are commonly used to roll and smoke marijuana), and that she was the passenger inside the vehicle, which was stopped after Officer M. Polion smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from it, I placed Hilton under arrest for possession of a controlled substance cocaine.
RadarOnline.com says that Hilton probably won’t get any special treatment since Las Vegas District Attorny, David Roger, doesn’t tolerate bad celebrity behavior:
“Roger won’t tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “It’s going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer David Chesnoff.”
The arrest couldn’t come at a worse time for Hilton with the DA running for re-election in a tough election year. The high profile nature of the case could be a huge win for the District Attorney’s office should Hilton get the punishment she deserves.
