Orange County reality star Shannon Beador believes her failure to be a good wife to husband David was what led him to cheat. In a new interview with Us Weekly , via a June 15 report by the Hollywood Gossip , Beador explained why she has put the blame on herself.
“If I had been an amazing wife, he wouldn’t have gone elsewhere,” the Real Housewives of Orange County star explained to the magazine.
After production wrapped on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9, Beador discovered hotel receipts in her husband’s briefcase, leading her to confront him about his alleged affair. Although David denied having cheated at first, he eventually came clean about his affair in April of last year. Since then, the Orange County couple has been attending couples counseling, which was seen on the Season 10 premiere, and will continue to be seen on upcoming episodes.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Beador was on the fence about sharing her marital troubles on The Real Housewives of Orange County , but ultimately decided it would benefit other couples , who have also been faced with infidelity within their marriage. In her Bravo TV blog last week, Beador explained her decision to open her life up to the cameras.
“The decision was not an easy one. But after much counseling and discussions with our children, we thought that we would tell our story with the hope that other couples who have faced similar heartbreak can repair and restore their marriage like David and I are doing.”
Also in her blog, the Orange County reality star updated fans on her and David’s marriage.
“Today, I am trying to process through the hurt that I feel from his comments. Some moments can be difficult, but I am focusing on the positive. I remind myself of the commitment that David has made to both me and our family. He has not only made himself accountable to me, but to everyone who watches the show, and for that, I am grateful beyond words.”
Shannon Beador joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County after Season 8, replacing Alexis Bellino and Gretchen Rossi, who left the series at the end of 2013. Joining Beador on the show were Lizzie Rovsek and Danielle Gregorio. On Season 10, Beador appears as a full-time housewife, while Rovsek is part-time. Gregorio is no longer featured.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
