Having had a couple days to mull over Tatum O’Neal’s fortunate turn of events that can happen only in the magical world of celebrities, I’m still bothered. If you haven’t heard, Tatum O’Neal has been allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of disturbing the peace after being arrested in New York with not just cocaine in powder form, but crack as well.
I can’t imagine that too many people get off with a measly $95 fine and two drug treatment classes. Weirdly enough, Tatum turned down an almost identical deal where she could plead guilty to disorderly conduct and spend two days in treatment. I’d really like to know what was going through her head this time around to agree.
Despite the fact that she got off easy, I hope she still takes it to heart to get herself together.
