Nigel Farage Rumored To Be Jeremy Clarkson’s Replacement On ‘Top Gear’

After Ukip’s abysmal performance in the U.K. elections and their leader Nigel Farage’s failure to win a seat in the House of Commons, speculation is rife as to what exactly Nigel will do next, now that he’s fallen on his sword in much the same way as Labour and Liberal leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg have.
Although many didn’t agree with Farage’s politics, he comes across as the sort of charismatic character who would probably be in his oils selling slightly dodgy second-hand cars, entertaining the troops in a call center, or thriving as a pub landlord in some backstreet boozer, who also does a nice sidelong in dodgy goods. It’s safe to say Nigel’s just got that sort of personality.
Yet such plebeian occupations probably simply won’t do for someone who’s had a sniff of power and more column inches than Nelson. No, sir! Nigel’s party may have only one seat, but they won a staggering four million votes, and such popularity is a sound indicator that Nigel, if he so chooses, could convert his star status into a very profitable little earner.
With his instinctive and godlike talent for rubbing people up the wrong way, infallible knack of saying the wrong thing, and living in a place they call the “past,” it’s no wonder that Nigel Farage has been tipped to fill Jeremy Clarkson’s shoes as his replacement on Top Gear.
It’s early days yet for the former Ukip leader, but according to the Daily Express , bookmakers currently have the 51-year-old at 6/1 to start a glittering TV career as the new Top Gear host.
Nigel may not know a lot about motors, but just like Clarkson, he likes a pint and a cigarette and knows how to dress badly. More importantly he knows his way around an insult and can work a vitriolic verbal volley like a kung-fu master.
He also prides himself on being an unreconstructed male and sports the sort of haircut not really found this side of 1986.
Plus, putting Nigel Farage in the driving seat of Top Gear would undoubtably soothe the savage breast of many disgruntled Jeremy Clarkson fans.
Failing a lucrative career as the new host of Top Gear, it’s rumored Nigel Farage will don his dancing shoes and strut his stuff on Strictly Come Dancing.
