NFL rumors are swirling around Patrick Robinson. The former Florida State Seminoles star is reportedly signing a contract to join the Indianapolis Colts, according to NBC Sports. The decision comes after he met with a couple of teams in the National Football League, including the Dallas Cowboys. There’s a little bit of controversy involved because Robinson is rumored to have agreed to a contract with the Cowboys before taking on a visit with the Colts.
There’s a very good chance that Patrick Robinson becomes a starting corner back for the Indianapolis Colts. Vontae Davis has a pretty good grip on the other starting corner back position. Robinson started 10 games for the San Diego Chargers last season, so the Colts are comfortable with the idea of Patrick being a starter for them. Colts general manager Ryan Grigson is still expected to take a defensive back or two in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Patrick Robinson had a very good meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. In fact, it is being said that he agreed to a three-year deal to join the team. For whatever reasons, Robinson decided to fire his agent, Kevin Conner, during the process. The tone of the negotiations with the new agent didn’t go as well. It is believed that the 28-year-old corner back was then steered towards the Indianapolis Colts. Robinson claims that he never gave Conner permission to agree to the deal.
The Dallas Cowboys turned their attention to Patrick Robinson after they pursued Leon Hall, who played with the Cincinnati Bengals last season. The Cowboys could not come to an agreement with Hall, who is said to still be interested in making a return to the Bengals. If negotiations with Cincinnati don’t go as well as Hall hopes, then there’s a chance that he might come back to Dallas to see if a deal can be hammered out.
The Dallas Cowboys came pretty close to signing Patrick Robinson. Fortunately for the Indianapolis Colts, he changed his mind, so the Colts now have a new starter.
