NFL rumors are swirling around Andrew Luck. His playing style might be a lot different next season because the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff and management are concerned that he is taking too many risks. According to the NFL website, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is insisting that Luck thinks more like a quarterback and less like a linebacker. Indianapolis certainly does not want to go through another season like the last one, so they are going to need their franchise quarterback on the field and standing upright.
Last season, Andrew Luck suffered a laceration on his kidneys. That caused him to miss the final seven games of the season. No NFL team wants to go that many games without their franchise quarterback. Just ask the Dallas Cowboys. They went from being Super Bowl contenders to not even making the playoffs. An 8-8 record was not something that the Indianapolis Colts were hoping for when the regular season started.
One of the biggest reasons why the Indianapolis Colts are hoping that Andrew Luck stays healthy is because they’re set to sign him to a huge contract. As one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Luck deserves to be paid well. In fairness to the Colts, though, they would love to pay him all the money in the world if he were healthy. It’s just risky throwing a nine-figure contract at someone that is prone to be hurt every time they’re on the field.
The Jacksonville Jaguars saw their offense make strides last season. This year, they decided to improve the defense. Jacksonville snagged one of the biggest prizes in free agency this year when they lured Malik Jackson from the Denver Broncos. The massive defensive end helped the team win the Super Bowl. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley will also have new defensive backs in Prince Amukamara and Tashaun Gipson to help build a better unit for next season.
It’s clearly obvious that the AFC South is getting better by the day. A healthy Andrew Luck has never been more needed than ever before if the Indianapolis Colts want to keep being one of the better teams in the NFL. Without him, they run the risk of ending up at the bottom of the standings in a division that included the once lowly Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.
