The first quarter of 2015 is drawing to a close, and the next quarter of new video game releases starts off with a home run as baseball season officially starts. Drawing from the PlayStation Blog and the Xbox Games Calendar , we take a look at the new video game releases for the week of March 29, 2015.
Baseball is a United States tradition, and two venerable baseball video game franchises are throwing the opening pitch this week. MLB 15 The Show from Sony and R.B.I. Baseball 15 are going head to head this week with baseball fans. Sony’s MLB series has been going strong since 2006 when it debuted on the PlayStation 2 and PSP. Since then, the game has been the benchmark for baseball games with its fluid animations and graphics presentation. The Road to the Show mode from MLB 14 had a great deal to offer the player but suffered from excessive loading times and severe frame rate drops on the PlayStation 4 version, but these issues seem to be resolved with a year of development time on the new console generation.
Popular D&D MMO Neverwinter developed by Cryptic Studios (Star Trek Online ) is releasing this week for Xbox One owners. The free-to-play MMO has been on the Windows platform since 2013 and is making its debut on the Xbox One with a planned version for the PlayStation 4 coming down the pipeline later. The game is free and will feature content from the base game, including the currently available classes from the Tyranny of Dragons expansion. The Xbox One version will use the friends list integration of the platform as well as various optimized controls to ease the transition from PC to Xbox One. It is also the first MMO from Cryptic that is on both PC and consoles.
The remainder of the releases this week are a plethora of indie titles and classic game releases such as MX vs ATV Untamed and Shadow Tower. The full and complete list is below, and be sure to check back with the Inquisitr each Sunday for our breakdown of the new video games for the week.
