Neve Campbell is getting ready to return to TV and she’s doing it with a Lifetime movie. Campbell will be starring as a former member of the Amish community in the telefilm Sworn to Silence which will serve as the lead in for a potential TV series.

According to Entertainment Weekly , Campbell will play Kate Burkholder, a woman who witnessed several murders when she was a child in the Amish community in Ohio. Fifteen years after the murders, Burkholder returns to the town to serve as its police chief. In her new position, Campbell investigates a murder that brings up painful memories from her childhood.

The telefilm and TV series are based off a book by Linda Castillo.

Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks, said in a statement:

“Growing our scripted programming remains a top priority for Lifetime and our long form strategy provides us with a strong stable from which to identify potential series… I’ve always admired Neve’s work. She is a proven talent who will bring a high level of intensity and presence to this role and Sworn to Silence .”

According to The Hollywood Reporter , Sworn to Silence won’t be the only project that Neve Campbell works on with Lifetime. Neve has inked a development deal to work on several scripted dramas and original movies for the network.
