NBA rumors have been swirling around Carmelo Anthony. As the regular season is coming to a close and the post season is impossible, tempers are starting to flare. Anthony is frustrated with losing games and not making the playoffs. Knowing that his career isn’t going to last forever, Anthony wants to be on a winning team. According to the New York Daily News, Carmelo might be willing to waive his no trade clause and find another team in the National Basketball Association.
Last summer, Carmelo Anthony was frustrated with the way his situation with the New York Knicks was going. When he asked to be traded to the team from the Denver Nuggets, he was hoping that management would be able to surround him with a supporting cast that can challenge for a spot in the NBA Finals. Though he has been saying all of the right things to the media, Anthony is clearly losing faith in the Knicks being able to get him the right players.
Whenever Phil Jackson decided that Derek Fisher was not the best choice to be the head coach for the New York Knicks, Carmelo Anthony still had faith because there were a lot of great options available. Someone like former Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau can quickly turn an NBA team around. There’s also Golden State Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton. However, it now seems that Jackson is leaning towards keeping interim head coach Kurt Rambis, and that doesn’t excite Anthony as much.
Things aren’t going all that well for Carmelo Anthony with the New York Knicks. It says a lot about his competitiveness that he’s upset with the situation. It shows that Anthony wants to win an NBA Championship before he retires and focuses completely on being an entrepreneur. Though he would prefer to do that with the Knicks, Anthony is starting to believe that he needs to be elsewhere in the National Basketball Association if he wants to accomplish his goal.
Once the NBA regular season ends, you can expect Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson to sit down and have a long meeting. If he doesn’t like what he hears, then Anthony can make a trade request from Jackson.
