Mitt Romney Transition Website Reveals Alternate Universe Where He Beat Obama

A Mitt Romney transition website was discovered today, presumably due to a glitch that published the pages as if the GOP candidate had not lost to President Barack Obama on Tuesday.
The Mitt Romney transition website was put together to cover the period in which, one presumes, Romney had banked on waiting for his inauguration. And in its pages, we see the path not taken and the branding Romney had planned as he sought to become the 45th President of the United States.
Mitt Romney’s transition website was pulled as soon as it was discovered, but in the internet age, nothing is truly erasable. And Political Wire grabbed some screenshots of the pages before it was yanked, providing a look into the Romney presidency as it never will happen in January of 2013.
The Mitt Romney transition site is low on talking points and high on flash, almost a fan site for the office of president instead of a site dedicated to policy. In fact, much of the content contained in the grabs is basic information about the inauguration ceremony and the pages are peppered with references to “President-elect Mitt Romney.”
A landing page on the Mitt Romney transition site simply read:
“I’m excited about our prospects as a nation. My priority is putting people back to work in America.”
Another is dedicated to filling posts within the Romney administration that was never to be, and yet another centered upon cabinet appointments. Quotes from “President-elect Mitt Romney” crown each page, heralding the decency and hope of an America Romney was unable to convince to elect him.
I’ll admit that even as an Obama voter myself, you almost feel kind of bad for the guy as the anticipation and moreover, the confidence in a win is palpable throughout its pages. Finding the Mitt Romney transition site almost feels as if we’ve stumbled upon his secret diary confessing an unrequited love and witnessed his humiliation when America took another girl to the dance.
