When Miranda Lambert arrived at the 51st annual Academy of Country Music Awards, she wore a pair of hot pink shoes with little gold guns in them that are the talk of the internet. While Lambert’s boyfriend, Anderson East, initially got a lion’s share of attention as the couple graced the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, April 3, 2016, in Las Vegas, Miranda’s shoes with guns took on a life of their own. On social media, photos of the pink shoes with gold guns began to circulate.

The shoes come in black, pink, and red. The heels are the design of Joyce Echols, as can be seen in the designer’s Instagram photos below.

Called “Come and Take It,” the shoes are sort of a mixed message, with their “come and get me” type of name combined with a “don’t mess with me” golden pair of guns. The golden gun can be seen on the table next to a glass of champagne and a pink pair of the heels in the above photo.

As described on the designer’s website, the shoes might have been thought up and designed in Texas, but they were made in Italy.

With 370 posts on her Instagram account, Joyce’s following will likely surpass 5,000 followers when all is said and done now that Lambert has brought attention to the shoes with the golden guns.

The real question is: Are those golden guns real? According to Today , the stilettos contain gold toy guns , but that doesn’t mean they can’t still be dangerous. As news stories from the past have taught, even a 12-year-old like Tamir Rice carrying a toy pellet gun wasn’t safe in a Cleveland park, as reported by Cleveland.com .

The fact that the hot-pink Joyce Echols stilettos, as well as the other versions of the shoes, contain gold toy guns instead of black toy guns that look more like real guns could be a factor in adding to their playful look.

Not all of the shoes on the designer’s site have toy guns within them. Some have beautiful big bows, and Joyce is getting comments a-plenty praising her pretty designs. If one looks closely, the shoes with the big bow also have barbed wire below.

However, it is the “Come & Take It” gun heels that go for $849 on Echols’ website are making the news because of the high profile that Lambert provided. Miranda combined the gun-slinging shoes with a yellow Christian Siriano gown, and the combination of the dress with the pretty pink heels with golden guns is meeting with rave reviews online.

The shoes also boded well for Lambert at the awards show, since Miranda won the award for Female Vocalist of the Year.

The article titled “ Miranda Lambert just went and showed us why you don’t mess with Texas ” on Rare US has gotten attention, as well as those who praise Miranda’s message for gun rights. The comments about Lambert’s gun-shoes are flowing into Facebook.

“Good for her. Stand up for your God-given rights.”

“I want these, attached to a boot though not heels.”

“Did you all see Miranda’s pistol at the awards?”

“Now those are a pair of pumps I would wear!”

“Representing freedom not violence. Every woman needs a gun.”

“Love the bling however… I’m going to need a bigger holster. I don’t think that little thing is going to put a hole in anything more than your toe.”

“I so totally need a pair of those shoes!”
