Miranda Lambert isn’t trying to hide how she feels about a year where she had to go through a very public divorce from her former love, Blake Shelton. And so when Miranda took the stage recently in Nashville, she didn’t hesitate to open up about her feelings regarding 2015, reported People.
Lambert was joined at City Winery by Ashley Monroe as well as songwriters Nicolle Galyon and Shane McAnally. She also introduced her guitar player to the appreciative audience.
“Thank you so much for coming out tonight,” Miranda greeted the crowd. “I’m Miranda, this is Shane, Ashley, Nicolle and my guitar player Scotty Wray. We’re kind of plugged in and we have a plan, but we’re drinking so we’ll probably mess it up. I’ll go first.”
“So this song, I don’t know if I can do it without crying,” confessed Miranda. “Scotty Wray has been with me since I was 17. For a long time he was my band. We have been through everything together, good and bad. We both went through a really s***ty 2015 and we have the tattoos to prove it.”
Lambert then revealed that Wray’s special song was entitled “Scars.” But not until now did she feel that she could sing it.
As for the mention of tattoos, Miranda wasn’t joking. After her reference to her horrible year in 2015 and the ink to prove it, Lambert and Scotty raised their wrists to display identical tattoos, reported the Daily Mail.
Even though Miranda hadn’t sung the song previously, “Scars” has been in existence for years. But now, after that devastating divorce from Blake Shelton, Lambert feels she can do it justice.
The song reveals how to learn acceptance for hurt resulting from love. Lambert subsequently expressed her appreciation on social media, noting that she had sung “Scars” with Scotty, before but never on her own.
“I’ve been singing his song ‘Scars’ with him all those years. And last night I got to sing it on my own for the first time. It meant a lot to both of us. Sometimes you have to live it to sing it. Especially a song like that. Thanks to everyone who came to share it with us. #roadsidebarsandpinkguitars #unplugged #friends #inspiration,” posted Miranda.
Lambert will begin her Keeper of the Flame World Tour in Houston, Texas, on March 7, with a journey to London scheduled for March 11. The tour will take her away from her blossoming romance with another musician, 28-year-old Anderson East.
Miranda Lambert Shares Love For New Boyfriend
But now that she’s found someone special, Lambert is happily going public and referring to Anderson East as her boyfriend on social media, reported Us Weekly.
Miranda posted a photo that included puppies and a mention of her new boyfriend.
Miranda previously shared her fondness for Anderson in a photo showing them snuggling.
“The snuggle is real,” Lambert wrote for the caption of that pic.
An insider told E! News that Miranda and Anderson are a great match.
“Anderson is a complete gentleman! Miranda gets butterflies with Anderson,” said the insider. “He is a wonderful guy with an amazing personality. Miranda loves his sense of humor and his love for music. They have many things in common.”
