Michelle Williams is in love with Jason Segel . At least that’s the story US Weekly is reporting in their latest issue.
Late last week the magazine published photos of Michelle Williams, 31, and Jason Segel, 32, taking a romantic stroll in New York City after dinner at Frankie Spuntino in Brooklyn on March 24th, and then the day after of Segel alone with Michelle Williams’ daughter, Matilda, 6, as she scooter-ed around the park.
It was reported the romantic relationship between Michelle Williams and Jason Segel is “pretty serious”, and that they’ve been dating for “months” after the two were set up by Michelle Williams best friend, Cougar Town star, Busy Philipps.
In the latest issue of US Weekly , sources close to the actress go on to explain the extent of just how serious this budding relationship is for Michelle. Williams told a friend, “I love him!”, referring to her new beau.
However, the source reveals that Michelle Williams is leery about making the same mistakes with Jason that she made with ex Heath Ledger, who died in 2008 of an accidental overdose.
“[Heath’s death] took a huge toll on her. She is a romantic and always felt partly responsible for not being able to help Heath,” said a source.
As for Jason, sources tell the magazine that he’s already proven himself to Michelle and is committed to the relationship, which explains why Michelle let Segel bond with daughter Matilda, which isn’t something she has done so quickly with other fleeting loves.
Williams hasn’t been in a steady relationship since her 2009 split from director Spike Jonze who she started dating shortly after Ledger’s passing, while Segel and longtime love ER actress Linda Cardellini split in 2007.
