Christian supermom Michelle Duggar is reportedly in love with her new hairdo.
Duggar, the star of TLC’s 19 Kids Counting , recently underwent a drastic makeover as part of her 46th birthday celebration . In addition to updating her out-of-date wardrobe, the mom of 19 did away with her staid trademark curls and fluffy bangs and was treated to a haircut (she lost eight inches!) and a sleek, straight blowout.
“I enjoyed the fact that my whole family and my girls came up with this amazing way of showing how much they loved me with a 24-hour birthday surprise,” Duggar told People magazine , adding that she hadn’t changed her hairstyle in 40 (!) years.
While Michelle’s husband Jim Bob wasn’t an immediate fan of the new look (he said twice during the reveal, “I do like it longer”), her kids and friends said it was a much needed change.
“Going from curly to totally straight was a shock for me,” Duggar told the mag, “but I am loving it and I have been doing both styles, curly and straight, since the cut.”
The Duggar family’s series premiered in 2008. Michelle and Jim Bob are parents to adult children Joshua, twins Jana and John-David, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger as well as Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie, the youngest, who was born in December 2009.
