It looks as though the brief bit of public tension between Michael J Fox and Taylor Swift will be short lived.
The actor, in keeping with his long standing nice guy reputation, has reached out to the young songstress with an apology for recent remarks he made about her to the press.
An article by The Daily Mail writes that the actor’s apology came just one day after Fox made snarky comments about the possibility of the country starlet dating his son. Fox’s effort to mend ties was shared with Swift’s Twitter followers when she sent out the following tweet on January 18:
“Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back.”
As previously reported in The Inquisitr , the public debacle originated with comments made by host Tina Fey during the Golden Globes ceremony on January 13. During the televised broadcast Fey jokingly warned Taylor Swift to stay away from Michael J Fox’s son, also in attendance.
While at an event a few days later, Fox was asked by the press about Fey’s hint at romance between Swift and his son. His response seemed to express displeasure at the thought of a possible match-up:
“No. No. Just back off. I don’t keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career. I wouldn’t even know who she was [if she sat at the dinner table]. [And then I’d hear the song], ‘Sam, You Piece of S**t.’ Oh … that was the girl you brought home!”
Swift , who has a storied romantic history with several young actors and musicians, has a propensity to reference her past relationships in her songs.
