Metallica frontman James Hetfield was joined onstage at a charity concert Friday night by his daughter, Cali, as the duo performed their cover of an Adele song to close out the singer’s acoustic set.

Cali Hetfield joined her father as part of the Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, according to the Huffington Post , and the well-received performance was captured on video from several angles by fans in attendance. The event was created by Hetfield and singer Sammy Hagar, who brought Cali out to the stage, giving her a friendly push towards the microphone.

“Say hi to my beautiful daughter,” Hetfield remarked before beginning the song.

The Hetfield duo performed their take on Adele’s Crazy for You , off the singer’s acclaimed 2008 album 19 . Cali Hetfield displayed an impressive vocal ability during the performance, which led to a solid ovation from the audience and inevitable yet favorable comparisons to her famous father’s singing.

Cali’s appearance topped off a set in which Hetfield was also joined by Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell to perform Blue Oyster Cult’s (Don’t Fear) The Reaper . As Ultimate Classic Rock notes, a number of other musicians took the stage, including Hagar’s bandmates Chad Smith and Joe Satriani, as well as Linda Perry and Pat Monahan. Comic and actor Adam Sandler even joined Monahan and Smith for covers of Aerosmith’s Dream On and Led Zeppelin’s Ramble On . Hagar, meanwhile, performed The Thrill Is Gone as a tribute to B.B. King, before sitting in with Perry on a cover of Jefferson Starship’s Somebody To Love .

Hetfield has been hard at work with Metallica recently, developing their next highly anticipated album. As the Inquisitr previously reported, guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed that the band is still in the early stages of composition, having over a dozen songs completed in rough form as of April. He also noted that the band has roughly 300 guitar riffs, many composed by Hetfield, to sift through during the production process.

In the past, Hagar has credited Neil Young’s Bridge School benefit series as his inspiration to establish a unique charity concert series. The event held on Friday was the second annual edition of the concert, and thanks to James and Cali Hetfield’s Adele cover, its impact is being felt far afield of San Francisco.
