Now that the presidential election is over, Megyn Kelly has seen fit to detail her experiences with President-elect Donald Trump, as reported by the Associated Press , in a new memoir. Megyn became the center of controversy with Trump when Kelly moderated Trump’s first Republican presidential debate at the Quicken Loans Arena, in Cleveland.

Mr. Trump was asked by Megyn about calling women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”

Kelly became one of the people on President-elect Trump’s hit list, with Mr. Trump stating that Megyn’s “ridiculous” questions might have been due to Kelly’s time of the month — or temperament.

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.”

Trump called Kelly a lightweight, with a boatload of controversy ensuing about Megyn’s relationship with President-elect Trump.

Now Kelly is hitting back with a book titled Settle for More , soon to be published.

According to Amazon, Settle for More will be published on November 15. In her book, Megyn details how Trump allegedly tried to provide her with gifts — such as free hotel stays at Trump Hotels — in what Megyn claims was Mr. Trump’s attempt to sway news coverage in his favor.

Megyn also claims that Mr. Trump might have gotten wind of Kelly’s plans to ask President-elect Trump about his disparaging comments about women. With the Associated Press enjoying an advanced copy of Megyn’s book, the publication explained what Kelly says is Mr. Trump’s routine of offering gifts to reporters. Kelly called the move smart on Mr. Trump’s part.

“This is actually one of the untold stories of the 2016 campaign: I was not the only journalist to whom Trump offered gifts clearly meant to shape coverage. This is smart, because the media is full of people whose egos need stroking. Trump tried to work the refs, and some of the refs responded.”

Megyn wrote in her book that she did not find it difficult to resist Mr. Trump’s offer to provide a free stay at the downtown New York City Trump Hotel.

Nor did Kelly find it difficult to turn down an offer for her and her husband to stay at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Florida estate. Megyn wrote that some journalists accepted Trump’s gifts — even though Megyn wouldn’t name the journalists in her book.

Kelly did find it hard to resist the kinds of ratings that Mr. Trump drew with Trump’s “unscripted, unguarded” brand of attention-seeking that was akin to “television crack cocaine,” as Kelly deemed it.

Megyn admitted that Mr. Trump had placed a call to Fox News executive Bill Sammon the day before the infamous debate to let him know that Mr. Trump knew Kelly would ask him a pointed question. Megyn wrote that she wondered how President-elect Trump knew that Kelly planned to ask him the question that reverberated around the world.

Kelly wrote that Mr. Trump displayed “bizarre behavior, especially for a man who wanted the nuclear codes.”

It was Mr. Trump’s effects upon Kelly’s family and children that seemed the most unsettling to Kelly, according to her book wrote. Megyn reported that her 5-year-old daughter, Yardley, spoke the most poignant words about Mr. Trump when Yardley told her mom that Mr. Trump wanted to hurt Megyn — and consequently, Yardley. Even when Kelly informed her daughter that President-elect Trump didn’t want to hurt the little girl, her daughter said that if Mr. Trump wanted to hurt her mother, then Mr. Trump was indirectly desiring to hurt Yardley.

“I’m afraid of Donald Trump. He wants to hurt me. Well, he wants to hurt you, so he wants to hurt me too.”

The description of the Settle for More book calls it deeply personal, honest, and surprising.
