Mega Millions Winning Numbers July 31: Did Anyone Win The $25 Million Jackpot?

Do you have the winning Mega Millions numbers for July 31? If no one wins the $25 million jackpot on Friday night, it will rise to at least $30 million for the next drawing on August 4.

Tonight’s winning numbers are 28, 32, 33, 40, 46 – MB 10 – Megaplier x4.

There has been no jackpot winner since July 21, when a single winning ticket was sold at a Penn 80 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. According to WTVR-6 , the big winner of the $153 million jackpot was Virginia resident Steven Peloquin, a trucker who bought a Mega Millions ticket (20-30-62-65-74 MB 1) during a recent trip through Pennsylvania.

Peloquin, who has been a truck driver for 30 years, tells WTVR that he didn’t check his numbers until the night after the drawing and was so excited he “didn’t get to sleep that night.” The lucky lottery winner took home a whopping $91.8 million after taxes — not a bad return on a $1 investment.

Friday night’s $25 million is far from the biggest jackpot in Mega Millions history. ABC News reports that three people split a record-shattering $656 million jackpot on March 30, 2012 — the biggest prize given away to date.

Of the top five jackpots given away, all have been been split between multiple winners. In addition to the $656 million record-breaker in 2012, there were four other grand prizes that made for some very rich lottery players.

  • Three winners split $656 million on March 30, 2012
  • Two winners split $648 million on December 17, 2013
  • Two winners split $414 million on March 18, 2014
  • Two winners split $390 million on March 6, 2007
  • Two winners split $380 million on January 4, 2011

Although Friday night’s big prize isn’t a whopper like the jackpots listed above, if someone wins $25 million they still have plenty to celebrate. Tropical vacation and debt-free living anyone? Follow the advice of a financial adviser and play it smart with your windfall — that $25 million prize will go a long way.

Keep in mind, lottery winnings are subject to immediate federal tax (25 percent) and most states also deduct taxes from the prize. According to USA Mega , a potential $25 million jackpot winner would take home a lump sum of $11,475,000 after federal taxes.

There is also an option to spread the payments out over 30 years. A winner who chooses the annuity option will receive approximately $625,000 per year, with a yearly five percent cost of living increase after the first payment.

Mega Millions tickets cost $1 each and are sold at lottery retailers in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Download the free LotteryHub app and watch the numbers drawn live on Tuesday and Friday nights at 11 p.m. ET.
