It seems that Mariah Carey has met her perfect match. The star went from having a relationship and marriage with a man who loved the spotlight as much as she does to James Packer, a rather quiet and successful businessman who simply dotes on Mariah with his billions of dollars and lets her own the limelight all she wants. It seems that Carey never has to share the attention when her man is around, and it seems it’s just the way the talent likes it.
James Packer and Mariah Carey first went public with their romance a year ago when Mariah snapped a shot of herself getting cozy with the Australian billionaire and her friend, Brett Ratner. The pair carried on their relationship, and James whisked Carey off on a number of romantic getaways, rarely appearing at events with the diva, but when he did show up, always stood proudly by with a charming smile on his face, clearly thankful to be on the arm of the star.
Most recently Mariah and James have been enjoying a romantic holiday on Packer’s yacht just off the coast of Amalfi, where the “Shake it Off” singer has been parading around and showing off her curvy physique. Yahoo! News reports as to how Packer is sure to let his lady take front and center, no matter the occasion.
“We Belong Together” songstress remain front and center. In an Instagram shot captioned ‘Pon de boat’ (with a smattering of anchor emojis, of course), they both continued to rock their signature styles. She wore a skintight black minidress with a cutout big enough to showcase her black lace bra and accessorized with diamond earrings and fishnet tights. He wore black track pants and a black T-shirt.”
Additional snaps that were taken of the couple while on their getaway only solidify the fact that Packer definitely is not about dressing to impress. While Carey is decked out in her glitziest outfits, showing off her ample cleavage and donning all of the bling Packer likely bought her, James is wearing the most monochromatic and unimpressive clothing that one would ever expect a billionaire to select. Yahoo notes the get-ups Mariah and James have on in their most recent shot on the yacht, and the website wonders if the unusual pairing proves that opposites attract.
“Mariah mugs for the camera in a flashy red minidress while James — sporting black pants, a gray track jacket, white socks, and black shoes (yikes) — snuggles up beside her. It’s probably worth mentioning, however, that Mariah appears to be wearing nylons. With no shoes. On a yacht.”
The couple later made their way into Capri for a romantic dinner. While Mariah showed off her latest costume change, a black form-fitting and lacy number, Packer once again stepped off the boat in track pants and a zip-up sweater over a black T-shirt.
The couple, who got engaged this past January, have been reportedly planning their sure-to-be lavish wedding. Mariah was certainly not shy about showing off the massive rock James planted on her finger at the beginning of 2016. What a way to “ring in” the new year!
Mariah has since been reportedly working to get into top shape so she can stun on the big day. However, there is no confirmed date as of yet. Rumors were swirling that the nuptials would be this summer, yet Carey has recently stated that although she would love to walk down the aisle this year, she feels far too busy.
Additional reports were making the rounds that the superstar is saving herself for their wedding night. The Daily Mail shared details about this late last month.
