Malin Akerman discussed the hard work it took to lose weight during the Los Angeles premiere of director Randall Miller’s drama CBGB .
The Trophy Wife star sported a white wool jumpsuit at Monday’s star-studded event. Since the new mom looked positively stunning on the red carpet, E! Online asked the actress to reveal her secrets. According in Akerman, she lost weight the old-fashioned way .
“It’s a lot of working out and a really good diet! A lot of really healthy food… I wish there was a magic pill you could just pop in!” she told the outlet.
When asked about her exercise routine, Malin Akerman offered up the following details.
“Pilates and cycling and hiking, that’s pretty much my routine… and as often as possible!” the actress explained during the event in Los Angeles.
Not only is Akerman the star of CBGB , she’s also headlining the ABC sitcom Trophy Wife . The actress portrays a woman who marries an older man with a handful of ex-wives and a few children. West Wing alum Bradley Whitford co-stars in the comedy.
“From an outsider’s point of view, people go: `Oh, younger, cute woman with an older man. Of course she’s a trophy wife.’ But we learn that Kate is really this lovely woman who is in it for the right reasons. Loves the kids, loves her husband, but just isn’t really good at it yet,” Malin Akerman said of her character .
She added, “Silliness has always been in my life. Both my parents are just silly and sarcastic, and so I think that it kind of stemmed from that, and I’ve been embarrassed so much in my life by my own parents that it’s like… nothing embarrasses me anymore.”
