A Washington, D.C., television station decided not to air any stories surrounding Lindsay Lohan’s recent fight at a New York City nightclub, according to Radar Online .
WUSA-TV News Director Fred D’Ambrosi, obviously sick and tired of running stories about the troubled Hollywood actress, made the unusual decision to ban all Lohan-related content from the station.
D’Ambrosi originally posted the idea for his Lohan ban on Twitter.
“I’m thinking about banning all #LindsayLohan stories,” he wrote on the micro-blogging website. However, WUSA 9 reports that the proposed ban would only last for 24 hours.
Although most people would balk at the very idea of not running Lindsay Lohan-related stories due to the amount of traffic her articles tend to generate, D’Ambrosi proved he wasn’t alone in his endeavors. Soon after he issued the aforementioned tweet, viewers began to respond positively to his decision.
“I’m all for it! Not news,” one viewer tweeted.
“Do it, wish others would follow,” another remarked.
Inspired by the feedback he received regarding the Lindsay Lohan fight story, D’Ambrosi revealed that he intended to move forward with the ban.
“OK. Due to popular demand, we just killed the :20 #LindsayLohan story in @wusa9 @5. The people have spoken!” the news director commented.
Since Lindsay Lohan never stays out of trouble for very long these says, D’Ambrosi said the ban was only in effect for one day. After all, the mother of all Lindsay Lohan stories could be brewing at this very moment.
The troubled actress’ recent brawl at a New York City nightclub landed her behind bars once again. Given the astronomically large number of legal woes Lohan has faced over the past 12 months, this incident might be the final straw.
What do you think about the Washington, D.C., television station’s decision to ban Lindsay Lohan stories for 24 hours? Do you think all media outlets should do the same thing?
