Late last year Leonardo DiCaprio showed off some great pop and lock moves in a scene from Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street . A few months later and we have another glimpse of DiCaprio dancing, but his moves aren’t as smooth as when he’s up on the big screen.
DiCaprio was filmed seemingly dancing by himself at first, while attending Coachella over the weekend. In the second half of the video, the actor was caught flailing around during the MGMT show in an apparent dance-off with one of the members from his crew.
The Wolf of Wall Street star is at first casually shifting from side to side, enjoying the set from MGMT and then a second clip shows Leonardo DiCaprio going nuts in a raver style dance. At the time the 39-year-old appeared to be incognito in a hat and sunglasses while at the Coachella Music Festival, but his disguise failed him.
During his dance Leonardo DiCaprio punched the air, did a high kick, and appeared to be doing jumping jacks while MGMT continued on with their set. After DiCaprio was done with his ninja-like dancing he headed off for a party at the Desert Pool Party which was being held at the Bootsy Bellows Estate.
A few months ago, to support his film The Wolf of Wall Street DiCaprio fielded questions about his dancing skills . During an interview DiCaprio said that his dancing moves impressed friend and Django Unchained co-star Jamie Foxx.
“I ran into Jamie Foxx, who is a friend, he watched it with some female friends of his, and one of them turned to him and said, ‘Is Leo really doing that, or is that CGI?’”
In an interview with Interview magazine DiCaprio revealed that his love of dancing , specifically break dancing, started at a young age.
“I used to, like, take half of the school and do break-dancing skits with my friend in front of them at lunchtime. I had this one science class where the teacher would give me ten minutes after the class ended and I would get up and do improv! My love of performing goes way back.”
Continuing DiCaprio said:
“There was this one casting call when I was about 10. They brought five kids in just to see their look and if they’d be right for acting. I had this sort of punk haircut because I was into break-dancing at the time. I swear to God, it felt like we were a row of meat.”
