Another day, another bad decision by Apple. The creator of an Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone has had his application rejected by Apple despite the emulator, and games being fully licensed and legal.

Developer Manomio’d Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone allows users to play classic C64 games and run Commodore 64 BASIC. Features include a SID sound emulation, auto-save, to continue exactly where you left off, realistic joystick and virtual C64 keyboard, portrait and landscape play, and vertical and fullscreen gaming.

Despite initially receiving positive feedback about the idea from Apple in Europe, the application was rejected on the basis that the app breaches the SDK clause prohibiting interpreted or executable code reports Touch Arcade . However, so do a range of existing applications, including a number of other emulators currently available in the app store.

We seriously hope that Apple relents on this one because it looks mighty fine, as the video below demonstrates.
