Lamar Odom Drops Marriage Shocker After Khloe Kardashian Files For Divorce Again

After Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from Lamar Odom for the second time in May, Lamar initially did not respond. But now Odom has dropped a bombshell about his views on marriage while responding to the divorce process. Lamar’s marriage shocker occurred when he was attempting to help Khloe make peace with Rob Kardashian in light of her brother’s upcoming marriage to Blac Chyna.
A preview of Sunday’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians showed Kardashian and Odom discussing marriage, reported People.
“He hasn’t told us anything,” admitted Khloe. “Rob has disconnected himself from us – apparently mainly me. He doesn’t talk to me, I hear he talks to my sisters way more.”
“I just hope he’s focused,” opined Odom. “Marriage ain’t easy.”
Khloe found that remark entertaining, chuckling at the comment.
“It’s not?” she retorted. “Your marriage wasn’t easy?”
The discussion about marriage segued into a plea from Lamar that Kardashian call her 29-year-old brother. She made it clear that she was not optimistic.
“I mean, he probably won’t answer my phone call,” Kardashian predicted glumly.
However, her brother did answer, even though he knew that it was Khloe calling, as she later pointed out in a camera confessional.
“I am really surprised that Rob answered the call, because even though Lamar is calling him, it’s from my phone,” she pointed out.
As Odom and Rob chatted, Lamar finally popped the question: Is he really planning on getting married soon? The 29-year-old had an interesting response.
“First comes love, then comes marriage, you know.”
As she listened to her brother and Lamar, however, amid the finalization of her divorce, Khloe seemed to be feeling jealous, pointed out Hollywood Life. While she encouraged Odom to maintain that family bond, she confessed that she wished she could re-forge her own bond with her sibling.
“I have always loved Lamar and Rob’s relationship and bond, and I want them to hang out. But I still want my time with Rob,” admitted Khloe.
But since the filming of that episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the situation has changed dramatically for Lamar and Khloe, according to Us Weekly.
Kardashian once again has cut Odom from her life. Even though Lamar came close to death after an overdose last October, he is “back to using again,” an insider told Us.
“Khloe had to put her foot down and stop helping [Odom] out. She can’t watch him fall apart again.”
But while Kardashian became more estranged from Odom after filing for divorce for a second time, she became closer to Rob. Kardashian and Chyna both were present at Khloe’s 32nd birthday celebration last month.
And in a new divorce bombshell, Lamar finally responded to Kardashian’s May divorce filing on July 8, reported E News.
According to TMZ, Odom and Kardashian both listed December 13, 2013, as the date of separation.
Sources told TMZ that Khloe and Lamar have a prenup in place. As for how long before her divorce from Odom is final, California usually involves a six-month waiting period.
People magazine obtained the court documents and confirmed that Odom, 36, had asked that the judge not award spousal support to Kardashian. Although the original divorce filing occurred in 2013, she had pushed the pause button when Lamar almost died from an overdose in October.
As to why Kardashian made the decision to file for divorce from Odom for a second time in May, 2016, a source told People that the timing was right.
“The divorce [from Odom] has never been officially off. Khloe was waiting for the timing to be right.”
