Katherine Heigl is making her return to TV, but this time it won’t be on a series like Grey’s Anatomy, but instead a made-for-TV movie that will debut on HBO.
Heigl and her mom Nancy are co-producing the movie The Knitting Circle, based on the book of the same name by Ann Hood. Also involved is Craig Wright, the creator behind Dirty Sexy Money.
Along with producing the movie Heigl will play the main character, a mother who loses a child and uses a knitting circle to deal with her grief.
Along with her return to TV Heigl is part of the ensemble comedy New Year’s Eve which will reach theaters in December 2011 and One For The Money which opens sometime in 2012.
