The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton‘s style has evolved throughout the years, and she has gradually evolved in keeping up her royal look. At present, there is not a single event where people have been able to question her dress or fashion sense.
Now, there’s the inclusion of one more event in the likes of the ship naming ceremony, and in that event too, she didn’t fail to opt for the perfect outfit.
As per a recent outing, Kate Middleton was the poster child of as well as sophisticated nautical fashion. And it even further promoted her husband, Prince William‘s, admission that she’s arguably his style maven of the family.
Kate and William were eventually brought for the official naming ceremony of HMS Glasgow, and were taken to the BAE Systems’ shipyard in Scotstoun, Glasgow on May 22, 2025. The royal couple was seen in a head-to-toe navy blue dress.
However, if compared, Kate definitely stole the show with her sleek midi dress along with the hat, which matched with the dress, and it simply outshone her husband’s suit. And the best thing is, Prince William is aware of this fact as well.

Kate obviously had to look better, considering the fact that she was the sponsor of the Royal Navy ship, which reflects her importance in the event. Royal Fans were present there, seeing the couple enter the event, and a fan even posted a video on his Instagram handle showing the Prince and Princess walking together. A voice from the crowd even stated, “You’re beautiful!” to Kate.
They, then, added, “You too, William!” And this further laughed the crowd. But what prompted more laughter in the crowd is William’s response, as he said, “You don’t have to say that. Don’t worry,” William replied, prompting more laughter in response.

It seems like Prince William is now habituated to her wife receiving widespread attention for her looks and style, and it also reflects on the fact that he is used to not getting the same recognition as well.
But here’s the real deal, Prince William doesn’t always take style advice from Kate. Kate has remarked on William’s beloved beard, hinting that she wants him to shave, but still, he was flexing his controversial facial hair at the ceremony.
Over the years, it has been on multiple occasions that the couple has put up a coordinated look. Though sometimes their attempt to coordinate outfits didn’t sync at all. It is ultimately a face that Prince William might not be able to match outside Kate Middleton when it solely comes to style statements.
However, several fans commented for both of them in the Instagram video, stating, “Yes, they both are beautiful!” one commenter agreed. “Beautiful inside and out! Both of them,” added another. And, one commenter even made note of something that might make William particularly happy and possibly even help his case in a debate with his wife, writing, “I absolutely love William with facial hair.”
