The saga of Kate Gosselin, former husband Jon and their oversized brood of eight wraps up tonight- the TLC chapter at least- and the former Mr. Kate has read his ex-wife’s recent, frantic public rants about caring for the kids- and has a bit of advice for her.
Kate has said (although she purchased a new Audi coupe ) that she worries about her family’s immediate financial future since learning of the show’s cancellation last month . And indeed, her celebrity lifestyle may just begin winding down after the TLC gravy train ends- but Jon seems to think that that’s no big deal.
In an online interview , Jon says that he and his ex are capable of supporting their kids and moving on after the Kate Plus 8 series finale tonight- but a return to a normal life is key. Jon cautions and advises Kate:
“Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life — a simple life. Provide for your family. Things will work out the way they should work out. Obviously there are families out there that have several kids – people work normal jobs and things work out. Everything is possible”
The now less-famous Gosselin says that his life is proof that life after reality TV is possible and even preferable:
“I don’t have a farm on 24 acres and the kids seem to have a great time at my house… I go to work every day and provide for my family. I spend time with my kids – spend time on the weekends. I spend time with the girlfriend I’ve had for over a year now. And enjoy a normal lifestyle.”
