On a recent episode of Raw , there was a major shakeup in the cruiserweight division, as Kalisto defeated Enzo Amore to become champion. For weeks, Enzo was making his slow turn to the dark side after a period of trying to defend himself against Big Cass before his injury. With Cass gone, Enzo was left without an important spot on the roster. Moreover, during this time, there was major speculation that Vince McMahon was unhappy with the braggadocios nature of Enzo, as he has been known to annoy people backstage . As a result, discussions spawned that he was going to be defected over to 205 Live. This was confirmed when Enzo debuted to send a special message to Neville.

Shockingly, Enzo was able to defeat Neville at the No Mercy pay-per-view. His Cruiserweight Championship win would further ignite his heel turn, as he felt that he was the one who single-handedly caused fans to notice the division. Interestingly, there was some validity to his statement, as there were factors that lined up with verifying it. First, 205 Live was getting proverbially buried underneath SmackDown Live , and low ratings were an indication of the declined interest. Second, and perhaps more importantly, the cruiserweights have been given the opportunity to main event Raw — WWE’s flagship show — for nearly a month.

During these main event spots, Enzo lobbied to Kurt Angle that he would enforce a no-contact clause, in order to prevent any of his fellow cruiserweights of attacking him. Essentially, Enzo was further embodying heelish characteristics, being unable to back up his verbal assaults against his 205 competitors. This clause was violated by the cruiserweights shortly after it was established. However, Angle introduced a new cruiserweight to the division, Kalisto, who provided a loophole in the clause.

Kalisto was able to capitalize on being the only cruiserweight able to compete against Enzo by defeating him for the Cruiserweight Championship. Kalisto has also provided more of a facelift to the division, revealing a new title.

Although Neville was originally supposed to be the foe of Enzo before reportedly walking out at Raw , this incident has created a golden opportunity for Kalisto, as he has added another singles championship to his resume.
